The Pediatric department was the very first department to be established at Bahrain Specialist Hospital, and since then it has continued to provide comprehensive, world class pediatric and neo-natal care. The department has a faculty of highly skilled and experienced pediatricians with different sub specialties, each and every one of whom is dedicated to the care of children, from the tiniest premature infant to the critically injured adolescent.

The pediatric department is divided into the following sections:

Pediatric Emergency section: Bahrain Specialist Hospital has a separate pediatric emergency section. It is covered around the clock by pediatric specialists with facilities for active resuscitation and observation beds.

Pediatric Outpatient clinic: It has well equipped pediatric clinics that are covered by Pediatric consultants and specialists with a wide range of experience in preventing and treating all types of children’s diseases. It has also a vaccination facility and well-baby care clinic.

Pediatric Inpatient: Bahrain Specialist Hospital has a pediatric ward with single rooms. The rooms are constructed in such a way, so as to assure the highest quality of care in a safe and child-friendly environment.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: It consists of fully equipped beds to deliver critical care and deal with a wide range of pediatric emergency conditions. The unit is covered around the clock by pediatric consultants and specialists and well trained nursing staff.
